First of all For those concerned I want to run a one off, and no Its not Hackmaster (4e). While I do thuroughly enjoy the Gyagaxian DnD tribute, it was tough on those of a softer disposition. While Hackmaster may have a reputation as a joke game, understand that it had to contain numerous silly parody elements due to the liscence by Wizards. Well this new game has a bit of the old cynical humor, but it is a real game, with a damn good rules set.
First of All For this game you take 3 six sided dice. And roll them straight down the line for Strenght, Inteligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Charisma, and Looks. Now if you want if at least one score is atleast 15 or it has two stats that are five or less you can name the character and turn it over to the GM to become shopkeeper or some sort of lowly NPC that is only vaguely aware of the great things it could have done.
Now off the bat you get 50 Building points to round out your character, but you can get anouther 50 if you keep your scores as is, but if you want you can swap 2 scores ie that 15 dex for that 8 Int becuase by Thor your gonna be a magic user. If you swap you only get 25 BP for a total of 75 Building Points.
So what are building points for? Well for boosting attributes 1 bp= .05 attribute point. Or you can reroll on a table to avoid something you don't want, like being fat or having 20 siblings or something horrible. But mostly they are for Skills Talents and Proficiencies. You can also become specialized in weapons; Faster, more accurate, hit harder adn even use it to make that sword a defective tool rather than a killing blade.
